What are Course Reps?

Course Reps are the frontline representatives of students on their courses - in fact it applies to every course that University of South Wales runs! Course Reps meet with teaching staff to tell them how students feel about their course. In essence Course Reps make sure the course is good and student’s experience is great!

Course Reps, who cares?

University of South Wales is on a journey toward an effective student representation system. The University in partnership with the Students' Union are working hard to ensure the system develops and further improves. Course Reps are vital in the quality process, and are central to making improvements in the student experience.

What do Course Reps do?

Course Reps attend meetings with University staff to let feedback students' views. Before each meeting Course Reps receive an agenda, minutes from the last meeting, and any other relevant papers. At these meetings Course Reps are on an equal platform to staff and their views are of upmost importance.

The Course Reps role:

• Liaise with the Students' Union

• Identify themselves to students as their Course Rep

• Gather student feedback

• Attend meetings with University staff, and communicate students' views with reason and conviction

• Feedback to students of the issues raised in meetings

• Are accountable to the students who elected them

• Support other Course Reps on course related issues

• Campaign effectively on relevant issues

• Provide a link between staff and students
