“ Tanglin parents often speak of how they value the school ’ s holistic approach : the pursuit of academic achievement balanced with the benefits of co-curriculum activities and a supportive , nurturing community that feels like an extended family . It is wonderful to see this evidenced in the parents ’ testimonials . Learning sits at the heart of everything we do at Tanglin . Our school has a long history , defined by Generations of Excellence across numerous fields . Such a heritage can only be achieved by continually moving forward , with every individual aspiring to achieve their personal best and encouraging one another ’ s efforts . We believe it is this intimate , collaborative culture that has enabled our community to thrive .
This year , we celebrated our 96th Anniversary . We are looking forward to the opening of a new state-of-the-art building in 2022 , which will house a 50 metre swimming pool , sports facilities , a CPD centre , exhibition and new music spaces , a co-working space for parents and spaces to support professional learning opportunities for our staff . The Institute @ Tanglin will also be housed there and will offer substantial learning extension through partnerships in the wider community .
We recognise that the world has turned upside down . The prolonged “ new normal ” may impact mental health and we have stepped up our resources to ensure that students and employees are well-supported . Tanglin ’ s aim has always been to develop well-rounded individuals who will flourish and make a positive contribution to the world . Hence , the importance of our ethos : ‘ a can-do attitude that focuses on developing reflective , resilient individuals with a growth mindset ’.
Tanglin ’ s students are impressive . I am continually amazed by their achievements inside and outside the classroom . While our results , featured here , show how outstanding our students are academically , we are most proud of the fact that our alumni are good people : global citizens who are well-placed for the challenges of higher-education and the wider world , wherever their future takes them and whatever that future may be .”
