Public Safety and Services Facilities Bonds
Garner is growing rapidly to the southwest along U . S . 401 . Maintaining strong public safety services in all parts of Garner is and will always be a top priority for the Town .
The Public Safety and Services Facilities Bonds , totaling up to $ 6.5 million , will enable the Town to partner with Wake County EMS to build a joint-use facility that will serve as Garner ’ s fifth fire station in a fast-growing area . Construction of this building should begin later in 2022 .
Stormwater Bonds
A substantial part of Garner ’ s charm lies in its older , established neighborhoods . But some of these neighborhoods have aging stormwater infrastructure that has not been updated in decades . Failing stormwater pipes can lead to damage to streets , so investment in what goes underground is also a wise investment in what ’ s above ground .
The Stormwater Bonds , totaling up to $ 2.95 million , will be used to upgrade storm drain infrastructure to ensure proper drainage of Town streets .
These bond projects will get underway and completed over the next several years . The Town will provide updates on the projects at garnernc . gov and its social media properties .
