Jamie Suh, Alice Park,
Tatiana Laroche, and Jeremi
Yoo gather around the wood to
compare texture between pine
wood and MDF. The students
were able to explore different
forms of wood and research
about plastic bending
before getting into
production session.

1. Elmeri
Antikainen and Andrew
Kim discuss the final design for the
educational game they are creating. Students were
assigned to different groups to generate ideas for their educa-
tional game, and as a group, they completed the design problem, design brief,
and design specification. 2. Brian Kim practices the 50m freestyle stroke learned through-
out the swim unit. In PE, students learned how to apply different swimming techniques and strokes on
their swim routine video for their summative. 3. Peter Lee uses the ruler to mark an accurate dimension on the MDF
board. The class cut out strips of wood, as per their previously created designs, so they could bend them next class.
4 . Janice Min revises her IA before having a final submission. Most students created either a website or a database for their ITGS IA. At this point,
most students were finished with their IAs, and they organized their files for the final product submission. 5. Eric Lee raises his hand to ask a question after
Mr. Laroche explained the difference between Cradle to Grave and Cradle to Cradle philosophy. Prior to going in depth about the unit, the students first wrote down the
definition of Eco- design in their notes to have better understanding on the terms. 6. Claudia Choi reviews her IA with Mr. Francois. An ITGS IA requires students to work under
a client, the teacher helped the students to revise Criterion D of their IA, giving feedback on the areas that needed improvement. 7. During design technology Jean Yi calls Mr.
Laroche over to provide feedback on his process journal. The design cycle is expected to be demonstrated in their journal as students move back and forth from inquiry to idea
development to creation and evaluation. 8. Stephanie Kim uses her drawing tablet to edit the photos that go into her website’s homepage. Based on their clients, the stu-
dents came up with appropriate IT solutions. 9. Winky Kim kicks with the support of a kicking board. In swim, speed is built up in the power of the kick and the bodies ability
to stabilize itself. Mastering this will lead to improvement in ones ability to swim altogether. 10. Partha Yashraj rests on the side of the pool after having a water basket ball
match. The students were able to apply their learning from swim lessons to prepare for their summative which required them to play water basketball for 20 minutes.
11 . Euna Chang and Haley Park, students in the combined SL and HL ITGS class, learn about Criterion D for their IA. Students had to create an IT solution based on their
client’s IT problem. 12 . Guang Tseng practices the breaststroke by using the pull buoy. For the summative project, students practiced different strokes to create a swimming
routine.
