1. Beginning to present her board to the judges, Sana Desai begins to start her
presentation. Sana Desai did her presentation on how to make ice melt faster. She used a variety of materials,
such as salt, sugar, and coffee powder. 2. Happily demonstrating her knowledge of Biochemistry, Clara Shin begins her presentation. Each
student got to choose a project that they thought would be a ton of fun, so Clara Shin decided to go with a practical subject that many are familiar with, the
rotting of apples. 3. Trying to look as if they are not posing for the camera, Mr. Pownall and Mr. Smith check Mr. Smith’s cell phone for some definitely real and crucial
information. Both teachers were discussing how to best handle the awards ceremony, when a random photographer started taking pictures. They then decided to pretend to check the
phone for unknown reasons. 4. Finished with all of her presentations, Ga Eun Kim puts her board away in Mr. Smith’s classroom. Each student was responsible for keeping their board safe, so they
had to check out the board, and when the event was over they had to tear down their board and check it back in by signing a sheet. 5. Vaughn Schneider explains his experiment about how far saliva
from a sneeze can travel. This experiment won an award for being a Risk-Taker. This was the first year that Vaughn Schneider won an award at Science Knights. 6. The enthusiastic presentation made by
Brendan Hodge attracts several judges and parents, such as Mrs. and Mr. Laroche. They gather their family together to listen and watch him explain the science behind video games. Brendan’s project
was about whether or not Mario could actually break all those bricks in the game “Super Mario Brothers.” Brendan found out that, while Mario could break one brick, repeating the process would
shatter his hand. 7. Starting off the event strong, Jeison Ward gives his presentation to the judge, Ms. Schneider. No time was wasted for this event, as each student had a judge come and look over
the presentation within the first ten minutes of the event. 8. While Ms. Brown silently watched, Mark Park gave his presentation on the structural integrity of several different kinds of bridges. The
amazing amount of math that it took to make this project impressed Mr. Brown as she tested the structural integrity of each bridge 9. Proud that all his hard work had finally payed off, Tivan George
receives an award for his project. Two students from each grade were given the award for Best Of Show, and these lucky students received the honor to be knighted by Mr. Smith with a knights sword.
