Enlightening Experiments
Science Knights
1
While Science Knights may seem like a
large and arduous task to some, with proper
preparation and inspiration from the past, this
project can be a breeze. The sixth through eighth
grade students who persevered know this better than
anyone, as they learned this valuable lesson the hard
way.
When asked about her Science Knights experience, Gina Park said, “I am a new student here, so it
took a while to get used to the challenge of Science
Knights. But it was nice to have help from Jaime Suh,
Clara Kim, and Christine Nam. I took inspiration for my
project from a previous senior’s board.”
When asked the same question, Kona Brumsick
“I took inspiration from an
experiment that I found online. I would
have appreciated help from older students because I had no idea on how to
do this at first. Looking at Jade Hughes’
board helped me a lot, so I think having
advice from older students could really
make this project go better.”
le responded,
While being visited by a parent, Woo Bin Cha explains his experiment. Woo Bin Cha chose to do
his experiment on how flammable different kinds
of wood are. He discovered that Red Pine is twopercent more flammable than oak.
The experience may have been difficult, but the
brave Lower Secondary students made it through the
science fair, and they had plenty of advice to share
on how to better tackle the project. Monica Park
said, “The
most important thing to know
when doing Science Knights is to know
your board, and how you want to do it.
Science Knights can be a lot of fun if you
choose a good project that you enjoy.”
Next year, hopefully those who persevered
through Science Knights will be able to provide the
help they received from the Upper Secondary to lower
classmen.
