From Sept. 24 to 25,
the elementary students enjoyed
Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW). Their theme was
“Shout it Out,” and involved reaching out to the
voice of God.
The theme was represented by Psalm 98:4
from the bible: “Shout to the LORD, all the
earth; break out in praise and sing for
joy!”
Along with this verse, Mr. Peter Lee, Mrs.
Nona Kilgore and several other teachers helped
spread this spiritual message in SEW.
Mrs. Kilgore helped with praise and other
teachers organized the events. Pastor Stephanie
Kim of Jubilee church
of Seoul and Former Children’s
Pastor and current drama teacher, Mrs. Rebekah
Schneider, shared messages with the students.
Throughout SEW, elementary students were able
to learn and worship the Lord with their friends,
but that wasn’t all.
Third grader Disha Mahesh said her favorite
activity was “singing the songs and praising together with Mrs. Schneider.”
Other students noted that they enjoyed Mrs.
Schneider’s recollection of ‘Daniel in The Lions
Den.’
Fourth grader Evelyn Anderson said she “liked
the experimental and physical ways of teaching
from Mrs Schneider.”
When Mrs. Schneider taught, she used objects
such as milk and chocolate syrup to symbolize how

God’s
words were the big
glass of milk and how we needed to
soak our selves in the word of God. Additionally, she said that they wouldn’t be applying God’s
words if they weren’t constantly being stirred up.
To reinforce this analogy she showed students
that chocolate milk cannot be made unless one
stirs the milk and chocolate together.
These teachings and stories taught students
about forgiveness and different ways of talking to
others about God for the purpose of spreading
God’s message of love and redemption.
Ms. Schneider said, “I’m hoping that students
will remember what I taught them and be able to
apply it and speak out scriptures in their lives as
they go forward.”
She said, “I don’t want them to re-
