Applying their knowledge
of measuring and units to
the class. Students had fun
making Jello.
This first grade class learned
all about maps and made
2-dimensional and
3-dimensional maps. They
studied weather maps and
compared how the climate
differs depending on region.
Erica Kim, now in eighth
grade, had first grade with
Ms. Arias who would bring
them food to eat during class.
2009
Now completing
tenth grade,
Olena Vasyltsova
has been at GSIS
since the very
beginning.
The grade 1 Class of 2010
learned about the solar
system and built a display
of all of the planets. They
invited other elementary
students to come talk to
them so they could share
what they learned.
Having a cubby to keep your
belongings can be a lot of
fun. What do you keep in
your cubby?
2010
Learning about world
cultures can be a fun way to
get to know friends. During
the World Cultures Unit, first
graders dressed up in
traditional clothes and
shared them with the class.

Not only is Ms. Welton
helpful and caring, she is also
funny. What did she make you
laugh about?
Thank you for all of the
wonderful memories and
good laughs. We will miss
you very much!
Sincerely, Ms. Perry and
Ms. Welton
