However , it ’ s the seats that have provoked most comment . Rather than opting for the standard template of blocks of colour with lettering picked out in a different colour ( in Brentford ’ s case , mainly red with a bit of white ) the seats are multicoloured , with a seemingly random array of seats in various shades of red , white , black and yellow . The club say the seats are a key element of the design for the stadium , intended to be easy on the eye when not it ’ s not full . It should be remembered that this is after all a community stadium and it will play host to other teams and events that will not attract a packed house . London Irish rugby club will be tenants at the stadium . As if to prove the point , all of the matches held in the stadium so far have been played with no crowd , and the haphazard mix of colours has somehow made it seem less empty . Critics that would prefer a more traditional colour scheme may also be amongst those that lament the lack of individuality in new builds .
The stand at the east end
As for the stands , notwithstanding the strange angles , the sightlines from the seats are good and all spectators are close to the action . The main stand is the largest structure , consisting of two tiers of seats and a corporate area at the back . At each the end the roofline plunges down to link up with the stands behind the goals . Where the stands join there are just a few rows of seats , but these incline quickly into a more conventional two
