The exterior views of Leicester City’s
Filbert Street also attracted a lot of
attention, especially the photo of an
entrance squeezed between houses
on the Burnmoor Street side of the
ground. Reminiscences included
Nigel Forrester who was denied entry
as he only had a Scottish fiver
and Richard Nevin who recounted
the tale of a friend who was too
large to fit through the Burnmoor
Street turnstiles and had to be let in
via the exit gates! When the ground
was demolished following the club’s
relocation in 2002 the Burnmoor
Street entrance was infilled with
houses, but its location is still clearly
identifiable today.
