What’s Happening…
New Faces, New Spaces in the Gift Shop
The old Marshall house, which currently serves as the
onsite Caretaker’s home, is also undergoing a long
overdue upgrade. Volunteers will replace windows, and
update old wiring and plumbing. Our appreciation to
volunteers: Wylie Bledsoe, Dan Block, Dennis Hoyer,
Dave Maloney and contractors.
Volunteers Barb Horsfall and Donna Beadle will help with
inventory and provide on-site support for the Gift Shop.
Thanks, ladies!
We are happy to introduce to you two new volunteer team
members: Bev Graves and Kristin Woodward-Vaassen. This
mother/daughter
duo will be taking on
the responsibilities
of DABG Gift Shop
Purchasing in 2016.
Watch for their
smiling faces and
welcome them on
board! They have
been working for
months on implementing exciting new ideas and products,
including a Premium Beverage Station offering cappuccino,
coffee, hot chocolate and slushies to DABG visitors.
Volunteer Steve Ulstad has drawn up preliminary designs
to reorganize the second floor of the Heinemann Center
to allow for greater efficiency of valuable administrative
space. The offices are located above the Gift Shop and
Garden Room in the Heinemann Center. Currently, this
area provides office space for staff, the DABG President
and Vice President, the Office Manager Volunteer, the
Computer & Systems Volunteer, the Data & Records
Volunteer, the Arboretum Library and a Conference Area.
Work will soon begin on this project. Please be patient
as we move through this period of transition. Thanks
again, Steve, for your vision!
We look forward to a fantastic 2016 season! The Gif B6
