The DABG has a unique opportunity to build its endowment through the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque. We have received an endowment challenge grant from the Iowa Arts Council, a division of the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. The challenge started in January of 2015 and extends until the end of this year (December 2016). The following donations were received November 2015 - January 2016 David W. Leifker, given by Susan Bennett Milt Avenarius, given by Sandi & Nick Helgerson; Douglas Blong & Elaine Reiss; Betty Artus & Karen Artus; Richard & Toni Heller Gene Tully, given by Marilyn Conklin Jeanette Schreiber, given by Robert Schreiber Ed Cosgrove, given by Marilyn Conklin Patricia Ahmann, given by DeeAnn Gaul Ron Meyer, given by Merle & Karen Meyer Butterfly Garden In Memory of: Stacy A. Families may also purchase lunch, drinks and snacks. This is an all-around good time for $1 per person (including adults) payable at the DABG front gate. Our goal is to double our endowment. Please consider a generous gift to the Dubuque Arboretum Association Endowment Fund. For every $3 given, DABG will receive $1 in the endowment fund. Each year, this endowment pays out 5% to fund DABG’s general operating expenses. Write your check to the Community Foundation of Greater Dubuque and put in the memo: Dubuque Arboretum Association Fund. You can mail it to us and we will forward it on. At 1 p.m., we will have a ribbon-cutting at the Lion’s Club playground. With the support of the Lion’s Club, we have added inclusive playground equipment for all children, including those with vision and/or hearing impairments. THANK YOU to those who have already generously contributed to the endowment. Thank you to American Trust who is the sole sponsor of this event. 4
