Pecos went well so they continued seeing each other. She attended some, but not all, of the band ' s concerts.
" When we first started dating, she didn ' t come all the time," said Pecos on the Smoking Gun. " She would pop in to shows around Texas and stuff and then once we got a little more serious, I guess, like engagement type, she came out on the road for good. I love having her because she kind of gives me a home feeling on the bus."
They were married on July 1, 2022, on some family land in Farmersville.
" It was pretty sweet," Jade said of the wedding ceremony. " We ' ve been living our best lives since then."
For the last three years, she ' s been going on tour with Pecos and the band, attending by her count more than 300 of their concerts, including a sold-out show at Billy Bob ' s Texas in Fort Worth. " I love their music," said Jade. She ' s not the only one who loves their music. One of the band ' s songs has topped 90 million views on YouTube. It was a song that Pecos wrote after breaking up with another girlfriend while attending Paris Junior College after he served in the Marines.
" Me and this girl I dated for a while," Pecos told Brandon Adams. " Just broke up and I went rogue. I quit my job. I just quit showing up. I saved up some money."
He ' d been writing songs for a long time after his family gave him a guitar at age 8. His mom and some of his aunts sang in church and his grandfather was a song leader.
" Sundays they ' d be standing around a piano at a little Baptist church," Pecos said on the Smoking Gun broadcast. " That was really cool to me, watching my mom and her family all sing together. My grandmother playing the piano. My mom can play the piano."
He said he didn ' t do any singing " until I was like in high school and then it wasn ' t around any people." But two times that he sang in public helped send him in the right direction.
He sang and played the guitar once in church. Afterward, a stranger approached him and told him, " I
“
“ I think she’ s made a huge difference in this camp. It’ s overall just a different feeling and I’ ve changed since we’ ve met. She’ s settled me down. Having Jade on the road has really made it nice for me.”

don ' t know you and I don ' t know what your plan is to do with this, but I feel like God is telling me to tell you, this is what you should be doing, whether it ' s in church or not. This is your gift from God."
He also played a solo concert at the Drunken Mule Saloon in Commerce.
" An acoustic show and packed it out," he said. " I made like $ 700. After I got that taste in Commerce from that gig and I had that feeling. It was like, ' Love this.’”
Then he moved to Lubbock, living with a longtime friend named Brandon Jones. Brandon had two roommates, Zack Foster and Kalen Davis. All three of the other guys were musicians.
They all started jamming together and eventually formed a band. Someone came up with the idea to call the band Pecos and the Rooftops. Now Brandon plays rhythm guitar for the band, Zack plays lead guitar, Kalen plays bass and Pecos sings and plays rhythm guitar.
" That was kind of cool because we hung out on the roof a lot and wrote songs together," Pecos told Adams about the band ' s name.
They recorded his breakup song and put it online. It hit 10,000 views the first week and now has passed 90 million views. The band has had other songs pass more than a million views on YouTube and they ' ve now toured all over the country.
Pecos Hurley ' s success didn ' t surprise one of his teachers from Yantis, Christie Quinn.
" He ' s a turkey," Quinn said with a big smile. " I don ' t think he ' s changed. He was very charismatic. No filter. He is who he is. He was very charismatic and very talented."
Pecos admits that he ' s changed for the better since being with Jade.
" I think she ' s made a huge difference in this camp," he said on the Smoking Gun broadcast. " It ' s overall just a different feeling and I ' ve changed since we ' ve met. She ' s settled me down. Having Jade on the road has really made it nice for me."
He ' s written a couple of songs about her, including one called " Missing Piece." Jade joins Pecos in a field for the video to the song.
" Loving you is saving me," he sings.
