By day, Michael Parsons is a realtor with Champion Realty in An-
napolis. By night, he transforms into something else entirely: a pro-
fessional movie critic. Parsons is a member of the DC Film Critics
Association. Together with partner Eddie Pasa, he writes reviews for
publications, freelances for local and national outlets and helms the
popular cinema review website DCFilmdom.com.

With those requisite and perplexingly popular men-
tions out of the way, we move to the annual slew of
comic book movies. With their second “Guardians of
the Galaxy” production already cleaning up, “Thor:
Ragnarok” and the recently reclaimed Spider-Man
property officially tying into the same cinematic uni-
verse in “Spider-Man: Homecoming” (to be ushered in
by Robert Downey, Jr.’s Iron Man on July 7th), Mar-
vel has surely dominated the box office, while the Gal
Gadot-starring “Wonder Woman” keeps DC’s “Justice
League” torch lit until November (and temper the tes-
tosterone level).
There are a few indie-style interlopers in the horror cat-
egory to keep things honest. Picked up by A24 (you’ll
recall the company that released last year’s bone-chill-
ing “The Witch”), the most anticipated horror flick goes
without a doubt to “It Comes At Night”. If you’re won-
dering if we really need another pandemic film, watch
the trailer right before bedtime. You’re welcome.
