Worldwide Gifts
A Gift That Reaches Around the World
Worldwide Gifts was
established in Southern
California in 1982 as a
ministry of the Pacific
Southwest region of the
American Baptist Churches
USA. Each summer a
second store was located
at Green Lake. In 1995 the
mission project was moved to
Green Lake permanently and
renamed Worldwide Gifts of
Green Lake.
Worldwide Gifts exists to provide
financial support for people involved
in cottage industries within developing
countries. The profits from sales benefit mission
work worldwide, and whenever possible, items
are purchased directly from American Baptist
missions or other Christian organizations. For
example, in 2013 Worldwide Gifts gave
$12,000 to the International Christian
Alliance on Prostitution Global Conference
which will be held at Green Lake in May
2014.
Volunteers donate time and talent to the
operation of the store. Some of the items
for sale include Christmas ornaments,
international music, clothing, jewelry,
picture frames, greeting cards, nativity
sets, home decor, instruments, wood
crafts, puzzles and toys.
Worldwide Gifts brings
hope and selfsufficiency to people
around the world.
