The Saturday after Thanksgiving is “ Small Shop Saturday .” Main Street Muskogee sponsors this event encouraging to shop local merchants during the initial holiday shopping weekend – keeping Muskogee dollars in Muskogee .
On Nov . 29 at Depot Green , Muskogee Parks and Recreation will host the tree lighting ceremony .
“ We will also be lighting a lot of the buildings downtown ,” said Ewing . “ On Dec . 11 , we will have live reindeer . We will also be doing all the train rides like we did last year … Thursday through Sunday .”
The annual Christmas parade , sponsored by Main Street Muskogee , returned to its normal route in 2021 , running along West Broadway from Second to Sixth streets . The parade will begin at 6 p . m . Dec . 19 .
The theme for this year ’ s parade is “ Wild West Christmas .”
