Navitas English

I have been with Navitas in Canberra since May 2015. In that time, I’ve worn a few hats: trainer, assessor and part of the Digital Innovation team.

As a trainer, I teach classes, assess against the curriculum and help students enjoy their English achievements. As an assessor, I was a first point of contact for the student and conducted assessments against the ACSF to determine where they would feel most comfortable in a learning sense.

As part of the Digital Innovation team, I help teachers and students understand how technology is used to further learning.

I really enjoy dealing with the students. They come from such diverse backgrounds, which adds real vibrancy to each class. It’s fun helping create an environment where the students feel comfortable to have a laugh. I try to be the kind of teacher I would like to have if I were in their situation – not only helping them to learn but also to navigate their way in the world.

I also enjoy the camaraderie. We have great people here in the ACT, and I am thankful to work with them. It’s important to make time to foster rapport with people, and to support of each other.
