A vital aspect of the UPA Flexible Learning Design project is the Flexible Learning Design program provided by the Learning and Teaching Services team, which offers professional development for educators. Through the program, teachers will develop capabilities to design and implement Flexible Learning Design in their units, underpinned by the principles of flexibility, equivalency, versatility and accessibility. The program will support and engage teachers throughout the transition over the coming months.

Together with the vital input of educators, Navitas continues to inspire and support innovation in learning and teaching. The implementation of Flexible Learning will place Navitas at the forefront of education in Australasia, tapping into new student markets, future-proofing constituent Colleges against potential campus or border closures, and always putting the students first.

The multi-faceted delivery available in Flexible Learning Design will provide renewed opportunities for UPA Colleges to mitigate any disruptions to education and maintain their commitment to deliver an exceptional student experience, be it online or on-campus.

Flexible Learning offers students the choice of attending sessions face-to-face on campus, online synchronously* videoconferencing, or asynchronously* through equivalent learning activities. It’s all about options – options that put the student at the centre of their decision-making about how they access their learning. In a Flexible Learning designed course, students are afforded opportunities to actively collaborate, communicate and connect with fellow classmates from all learning paths. Learning outcomes remain the same across all modes of study, and students have multiple ways to achieve these outcomes, making it more appealing to a broader student market.
