based investments the Chamber dedicated programming, time and talent towards five primary areas; economic development( 17 %), community development( 29 %), education & communication( 14 %), governmental affairs( 21 %), and operating( 19 %). Pointed efforts has assured movement and progress in all the right areas for 2018. The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is leading the charge for the community and economic development study conducted by Market Street, which began in 2017. The data derived will create community consensus, as well as action steps towards a shared vision. This will result in a streamlined approach to progress, with an alignment of resources and funding. While this research has been underway the Chamber has established partnerships to allow for further participation in Front Range growth and the Chamber has successfully secured a seat at the table in Colorado to have a voice on such topics as transportation, entrepreneurial needs and talent pipeline planning.
Locally, resources for supporting business development and growth has been further strengthened with continued and new partnerships with local agencies, to name a few; SCORE, the Wyoming Women’ s Business Center, Manufacturing Works, Southeast Wyoming Workforce Advisory Group. Great advancements have been made for various career pathways. The Chamber was successful in working with the local community college for the development of apprenticeships. Connections with the local k-12 programming has also increased business engagement in the classroom. This increases the exposure to various career pathways and includes that of the military, workforce and higher education. All efforts were to design improved access to a skilled workforce for the area businesses. Serving as the link between the educational system and the business community has produced a noteworthy outcomes.
Achieved with new technology integration is a prime communications structure to Chamber Partners, as well as community members with access to tailored educational resources. Programs like 22 @ Noon, Partner Points and ShortGo are structured to thoroughly communicate and educate the business public, as well as community on relevant and important topics.
The next phase in the educational sector will result in the launch of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Accreditation Program which will define and set the standard for businesses within the region. It will be a peer to peer experience encouraging growth, improvements and strengthened awareness on particular areas of business. This program will be launched in the Fall of 2018. All businesses will be offered the opportunity to participate.

The governmental affairs initiative investments has supplied access to a bill tracking software. This has improved staff time allocated toward administrative efforts in this sector. Staff can now dedicate more of their talents and expertise towards lobbying specific issues, being actively engaged in the local political climate and serving on initiative based boards and committees. All has resulted in supremely positioning the staff of the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce as primary community leaders and decision makers.
The Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce is looking out for the welfare of all community members and visitors. Each brick laid will result in an empire for all to enjoy and this approach has allowed for the City of Cheyenne to be the single community which combatted an economic downturn with area growth in the State of Wyoming in 2017.
A plan is only as good as the individuals executing it. Rest assured, the Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce employees and partners have the right expertise to continue forward and move onward along the path towards prosperity.
