In 2013 Visit Cheyenne provided 31 bids
for new convention business to its lodging
partners. Winning proposals accounted
for an estimated 3,200 room nights and
$2 million in direct spending. In short
conventions are big business in Laramie
County.
In October, Visit Cheyenne launched a new
program called Meetings Express. The
program rewards people who help bring
conferences and meetings to Laramie
County. “We want people to raise their hand
and suggest Cheyenne when the question
of conference location is brought up,” Walter
said, “The services that we offer makes it
easier to host a meeting in Cheyenne versus
other Wyoming and Front Range cities.”
