Melbourne Grammar School on the Main Oval at
Scotch on 28 July.
A large and vocal crowd watched as the 1st

this annual fixture to decide the holders of one of
the most coveted trophies in schoolboy football.
Final scores: Scotch 12.11.83 defeated
Melbourne Grammar 4.5.29. For Scotch, Will
Sutherland kicked four goals, Cooper Harvey
and Finn Maginness each kicked two, and Tom
Blenheim, Noah Croes, Hugh Longbottom and Will
Clark kicked one goal each. Best players for Scotch
were Will Sutherland, Charlie Cormack, Will Kelly,
Noah Croes, Finn Maginness, Todd Garner and
Tom Blenheim.
Prior to the match, more than 170 members of
the Scotch and Melbourne Grammar communities
enjoyed a highly successful Cordner-Eggleston Cup
Luncheon. Guest speaker at the luncheon, held in
the congenial surroundings of the Cardinal Pavilion’s
Boykett Room, was pre-eminent philanthropist and
football luminary, Dr Susan Alberti AC.
