Premier’s Awards to
10 Scotch Collegians
Congratulations to the 10 Scotch Collegians
who received 2017 Premier’s Awards for their
excellent VCE work. The awards, recognising
the top-performing VCE students in 2016, were
presented on 17 April, in front of an audience of
more than 1100. The Scotch boys were among 287
students who received 320 awards in all.
Warren Lee and Connor O’Brien were two of
just 25 students who received the Top All-Round
VCE High Achiever Awards. This award is presented
to students who have achieved study scores of 46
or higher in at least five VCE studies.
Nominations for study awards are based
on students’ 2016 study scores. The number
of awards in each study is calculated using the
enrolment base in that study, and students must
have achieved a study score of 46 or above to
be eligible. Study awards were presented to the
20
following boys in the stated categories: Warren
Lee (Specialist Mathematics), Connor O’Brien
(German and Literature), Javier Cross (Ancient
History), Victor Dobre* (Romanian), Andrew Kawai
(English Language and Physics), Zi Feng (Tian
Tian) Lan* (Music Performance), Michel Nehme*
(Latin and Literature), Mitiadis (Mills) Paikopoulos*
(Ancient History), Marcus Peters (Drama) and Zi
Quan (Daniel) Qin* (Chinese Second Language
