FOR THE ROAD AHEAD

AERIAL VIEW OF THE SCOTCH CAMPUS 2023 exciting era in the school ’ s history is unfolding . Duncan McGregor first served on the Scotch Council for 11 years from November 1992 and was Chair of the Finance Committee from July 1998 until October 2003 . Duncan subsequently rejoined Council in 2009 , serving for a further 14 years . Twenty-five years of voluntary contribution speaks for itself ; a truly remarkable and most commendable record of service .
Fiona Pearse joined Scotch Council in November 2013 and has served for 10 years , including as Chair of Council ’ s Risk Committee since 2013 . Simply put , Fiona has made a mighty contribution to the school ’ s approach to risk and compliance during her tenure and leaves a fine legacy .
Last but not least , Jonathan Buckley leaves Council following almost 11 years of outstanding service , including eight years as Chair of the Investment Committee and seven years as Chair of the Fundraising Committee . The school ’ s approach to and results from its investment strategy again leave a very fine legacy as a result of Jonathan ’ s expertise .
On behalf of the Scotch Family I want to express our deep gratitude to Duncan , Fiona and Jonathan for their magnificent combined contribution to Scotch over so many years . I would like to add that their willingness in more recent times to provide Council continuity during our Principal transition process has been greatly appreciated , and has allowed us to implement a thoughtful succession process having regard to the skill and experience Council requires in the years ahead .
Council is pleased to welcome Nick Schiffer and Jonathan Green , who will attend their first Council meeting in December 2023 . Nick and Jonathan bring compelling skillsets to the Council and I urge you to take in their respective profiles which are available on the school website . A further appointment will be announced to the community in due course .
As another successful year at Scotch comes to a close , and as we continue our focus on thoughtful regeneration with the release of our strategy in the new year , I want to wish all members of the Scotch Family a safe and happy summer break and a rewarding 2024 .
