Snowsports
Team and individual success in
Junior School snowsports
This year the Junior School snowsports team
comprised 46 boys, and the team represented
Scotch with distinction at the Victorian
Interschools Snowsports Championships and
later the Australian Interschools Snowsports
Championships, both held at Mt Buller this year.
At the Victorian Interschools, 23 Scotch
teams and 27 individuals qualified for
the Australian Interschools Snowsports
Championships. Of the 23 Scotch teams, an
amazing 13 teams finished on the podium. There
were also some individual podium placings for
the following boys:

• Louis Emmett: first place in the Cross
Country Classic, division five, and third
place in alpine giant slalom, division five;
Joe Bertalli: third place in the Cross

Country Classic, division four;
• T homas Luscombe: third place in
moguls, division five;
• Edward Hill: third place in moguls,
division four, and third place in alpine
giant slalom, division four;
• Henri Lempriere: second place in skier
cross, division four.
This individual and team success at the
nationals earned Scotch the Champion Primary
Boys’ School trophy – the 12th consecutive year
we have held this title. Special congratulations
go to Edward Hill, who was awarded the Mt
Buller Cup for the third year in a row following the
Vic torian Interschools, recognising outstanding
individual achievement across all of his skiing
and snowboarding events.
A huge thank you to the snowsports
committee, staff, parents, boys and supporters
throughout this snow season. Congratulations to
all boys for their success on the snow this year,
and best wishes for 2018.
