be received by 8pm on Thursday 8 August
to be matched. All gifts received will be
directed towards this scholarship.
The equation is simple: we have only
24 hours, from 8pm on 7 August to 8pm
on 8 August, to raise the full $750,000
– or the campaign comes to nothing. To
achieve the targeted amount will require a
full Scotch team effort!
Kicking off this exciting campaign
will be a dinner in the Boykett Room,
Cardinal Pavilion, on Wednesday 7 August
at 7pm. For tickets to this special event,
please contact Rebecca Mortimer in the
Scotch College Development Office, on
+61 3 9810 4300.
To encourage all boys to be involved
and to support the appeal, there will be a
full school casual clothes day on Thursday
8 August. A screen will be set up in the
Senior School Quadrangle so boys and
staff can watch the campaign live, and
monitor progress towards the $750,000
goal. The Class of 2019 committee will
host a barbecue lunch.
In a letter addressed ‘To the boys
of Scotch College’ from his Corps
Headquarters in France in June 1918,
General Sir John Monash said: ‘As the
years roll on, my regard for the Old
School and my pride in it have steadily
grown, and the realisation of the high
renown which has been achieved by so
many men who were launched upon their
careers from Scotch College has been for
me always a stimulus and an inspiration.
I have never ceased to think of the Old
School with affection.’
Please join us in acknowledging the
achievements and contribution of the
finest Scotch Collegian, by supporting a
scholarship that bears his name and pays
tribute to his outstanding life.
