INSTALLATION OF DR SCOTT MARSH AS THE 10TH PRINCIPAL OF SCOTCH COLLEGE , MELBOURNE
Dr Scott Marsh was installed as the 10th Principal of Scotch College in a service in the Memorial Hall on the morning of 30 January . Attending the service were Scotch teaching and non-teaching staff , members of the School Council and the Old Scotch Collegians ’ Association , leaders from other schools , old boys , parents and many members of the broader Scotch Family . Also present at the service were members of Dr Marsh ’ s family , including his parents David and Diane .
Before the members of the official party entered , staff , family members and special guests were already greeted with a beautiful array of flowers on stage , displayed with warm subtle lighting , symbolising not only the start of a new school year but more importantly the start of a fresh new era with the installation of Dr Scott as the 10th Principal of Scotch College .
The ceremony started with the Dean of School Operations , Mr Stephen Kong (’ 68 ) introducing all attendees on stage : Rev . David Assender and Rev . Doug Campbell , School Chaplains , Rev . Peter Phillips , Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Victoria , Rev . Dr John Wilson , Deputy Chairman of the Scotch College Council , Mr Alex Sloan (’ 71 ), Chairman of the Council , Dr Scott Marsh and his wife Mrs Anna Marsh , Mr Robert McLaren , Vice Principal (’ 73 ), Mr Tom Savill , Head of the Junior School , Mrs Kristy Irwin and Miss Debra McMenamin respectively representing the teaching staff of the Senior School and the Junior School , and Mr AJ Williams , Indigenous Mentor .
Unfortunately , the Welcome to Country could not take place since many elders have recently died , as explained by AJ Williams .
