Chris , who was Captain of Monash House in his final school year of 1985 , now owns Champion Data , which employs 300 staff and whose activities include supplying AFL statistics and graphics to television stations , coaches , digital media and stadiums . Richard was School Captain in 1987 and Jonathan was a Prefect in 1989 . The Hume brothers ’ father , KEN (’ 57 ) was a Prefect in his final year and now , together with his wife Ann , has 11 grandchildren . Their grandfather , another KEN , also attended Scotch ( 1925-30 ).

1990s

TV Week reported that actor JESSE SPENCER (’ 96 ) had married his long-term partner , Kali Woodruff , a research scientist from Neptune Beach , Florida , USA . While still a Scotch boy and then in his early Old Boy years , Jesse played the part of William ‘ Billy ’ Kennedy in Neighbours ( 1994 to 1999 ). From 2005 he starred in the NBC series House and from 2012 he appeared in the TV series Chicago Fire .
MATTHEW GURRY (’ 98 ) has spent most of his post-Scotch life living overseas , including living in Paris for five years and in London for the past six years . Matt works in the music industry , touring the world with his band , Belle Roscoe , writing music for film and TV , and recently ( since COVID ) going back to his roots freelancing as a Creative Director . Matt has also enjoyed setting up several startups in recent years , including retail business ‘ Sorry Thanks I Love You ’ in Australia with former classmate ANTHONY WHITE (’ 98 ).
Last year Matt recorded a new album in Nashville , Tennessee , which he hopes to release and tour later this year . Matt met his partner Charlotte while living in Paris – they are expecting their first child later this year .

2000s

After leaving Scotch , JONATHAN WILCOX (’ 07 ) completed a Bachelor of Arts ( Criminology ) at the University of Melbourne while resident at Ormond College and a Juris Doctor at the University of Sydney . Jonathan spent seven years as a solicitor working in criminal law in private practice , the Aboriginal Legal Service NSW , and Legal Aid NSW . As a solicitor , Jonathan worked at a number of regional locations in NSW , including New England , the Riverina , the Far West and the Central Coast . He was called to the NSW Bar in May 2021 and is reading at Sir Owen Dixon Chambers , Sydney .
Jonathan ’ s practice predominantly consists of criminal defence , and representing defendants in high-risk offender detention and supervision order applications in relation to serious crime and terrorism .
In his spare time , Jonathan enjoys swimming , skiing and cooking .
PETER HO (’ 17 ) is entering the fourth year of a Bachelor of Health Sciences in Dentistry and Master of Dentistry at La Trobe University , Bendigo . Peter passionately advocates the importance of oral health and , as he told Great Scot , ‘ ensuring that everyone ’ s dental experience is a positive and enjoyable one ’. Very active in the community , he has devoted considerable energy to the work of the La Trobe University Bendigo Oral Health and Dentistry
Society ( BOHDS ), of which he was elected President in 2020 .
He is the 2020 / 21 Co-Convenor of the Australian Dental Students ’ Association , and is also a member of the 2021 Recent Graduates and Students ' Committee for the Australian Dental Association . BOHDS recently received its first nationally-recognised award from the Tertiary Access Group , a not-for-profit organisation representing university and TAFE associations across Australia .
In his spare time , Peter enjoys producing and creating music for his family and friends . After gaining some traction for his music on Spotify , he decided to work on a mini-album EP , for release this year .
TIAN TIAN LAN (’ 17 ) is one of three finalists chosen for the prestigious Lev Vlassenko Piano Competition , held biennially in Brisbane . It is the biggest piano competition in Australia ( apart from the Sydney International ) with $ 60,000 in prizemoney . In the final , which will probably be held in November , Tian Tian will perform Rachmaninoff ’ s 3rd piano concerto with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra . The many occasions he has performed this concerto with the Scotch Symphony Orchestra will stand Tian Tian in great stead in the Brisbane competition . He performed Rachmaninov ’ s 3rd piano concerto several times during the Symphony Orchestra ’ s tour of Spain three years ago .
Tian Tian completed his Diploma of Music at the end of last year and is now in first year Medicine at the University of Melbourne .
