We find ourselves in a unique and highly challenging situation , and we can only hope to make what we can of it . To me , it has reinforced the importance of sport on so many levels . It provides connection and a release , and the enjoyment of shared contribution on the sports field is powerful and brings people together . While we don ’ t know what the immediate future holds , I do know that sport is going to be valued more highly than ever before .
I would like to make mention of our Year 12 boys . I know how devastated they were not to be able to take the field , court or pitch in their final year . I can only provide my support and empathy to this group and let them know that we have been hurting for you . I hope that each one of you can find rewarding opportunities in your senior sports careers .
