Gravette ’ s Hammer and Stain NWA is a DIY Party

If you are looking for a unique venue for your club , business ’ s team building experience or a fun girls night out , Hammer and Stain NWA could be the answer . Stacy Anazagasty ’ s vision for a creative space that combines comradery and fun is a reality in the Gravette downtown business district .
Her market area is a 45-mile radius around Gravette . “ I used to work at the corporate office of Hammer and Stain ,” she said . During her three years there she was involved in everything from corporate training to helping new owners with their social media presence . “ This is the second store I ’ ve owned .”
Anazagasty came to Northwest Arkansas to be closer to family and close they are : her relatives live right across the street . The original move was to Bella Vista and the initial thought was to open the business there , and she was close to signing a lease . However , she took a fortuitous drive that changed the calculation .
“ One day I was driving my daughter to school in Gravette and I decided to go downtown and I saw a cute little space to rent and that ’ s why I ’ m here ,” she said .
She chose Gravette based on its location , favorable rental terms , ease of interaction with the city and chamber of commerce involvement ; so involved that she ’ s now chamber president . Catering to the Target The event-only business specializes in girls night out and date night activities . Corporate team building events and other special dates draw a younger and more diverse crowd . A planned murder mystery dinner program sold out in 24 hours .
Event attendees generally don ’ t come to Hammer and Stain with a specific project in mind . For example , for a bachelorette party the bride will establish a price range that she sets for her attendees . Anazagasty then sends out a link to all the potential participants . The typical price range is $ 45 to $ 100 per person with project options ranging from wooden signs to ceramics .
“ It ’ s a great alternative to the bar scene ,” she added .
That ’ s the outline for a private party . For a public event , the project is making a planter or ceramics , and everyone works on that activity .
The number of events for this unique business on Main Street has been consistent , although Anazagasty would like to see events seven days a week . DIY DNA When she was young , Anazagasty ’ s grandparents used to participate in craft shows in malls . She would go along with them almost every weekend and now by her own definition , DIY is in her blood . That DIY background comes in handy for public parties where Anazagasty is more in project leadership mode .
For a private party , the customer identifies six to eight friends to invite . Hammer and Stain often offers a promotion to incentivize customers , like a free project for an attendee or a percentage off the list price for an event .
Attendees can bring virtually anything they would like to consume during a Hammer and Stain event . The business does not have a liquor license , but attendees can do BYOB .
The Hammer and Stain team has an established way to teach the participants to complete the project .
“ With private parties I tend to not talk as much because I want them to have fun on their own because they ’ re friends ,” she said .
With a public party she ’ s more interactive with each person . Parties typically last from two to four hours .
There ’ s no doubt that the Hammer and Stain studio in downtown Gravette offers a little bit of everything , and as the range of projects continues to expand , the universe for potential customers is growing .
