Installations Miller McConnell Signs installs AGFA Anapurna H2500i Printer Miller McConnell Signs (Ottawa, ON), serving the Ottawa sign market since the early 1990s, recently installed an Agfa Anapurna H2500i LED printer from Agfa Graphics Canada. The company specializes in producing “vivid” signage on paper, vinyl, poly- styrene, coroplast, foam board, aluminum, specialty fabrics and other substrates. The new printer joins an existing Agfa Anapurna M2 hybrid wide-format UV printer that produces “stunning results” on a wide variety of rigid materials. The shop’s equipment also includes laminating machines that provide additional protection when long-term durability is needed. Miller McConnell is also one of only a few sign companies in eastern Ontario that has in-house Braille and tactile sign equipment that can accurately engrave on wood, acrylic, plexiglass and other plastics and metals. “We were very satisfied with our previous Anapurna that lasted 10 years without any major problems,” said owner Craig McConnell. “We wanted to continue with Agfa as our partner and purchased the Anapurna H2500i LED because it’s a hybrid that has outstanding print quality and low operating costs. It can print on rigid panels and rolls up to 98” wide at 15 boards per hour in production mode.” The H2500i is ideal for sign shops, digital printers, photo labs and mid-sized screen printers that want to combine board and roll-to-roll jobs. Its 6-colour engine is known for exceptional quality and high productivity. With an automatic board feeder, productivity is further increased. Its white-ink function can print on transparent materials for backlit applications, or can print white as a spot colour. The hybrid is fitted with air-cooled UV LED lights that significantly reduce energy costs.
