Print industry news Heidelberg inks largest single contract in 20 years Online print leader Printi (Sao Paulo, Brazil) has invested in three new Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 presses and a fully automatic Suprasetter 106 CtP system. Twelve Heidelberg technicians installed the new systems over eight weeks. Once that had been done, 12 Printi employees received one month of intensive on-site training. Printi’s goal is to increase productivity by up to 30%. Make-ready times have already been cut from 40 minutes to four minutes, and what used to take five presses to produce can now be handled by its three new Speedmasters. The new presses use Heidelberg’s groundbreaking Push to Stop technology for fully automatic job changes. “This is the largest contract in 20 years for us,” said Ludwig Allgoewer, President of Heidelberg of Brazil. “The 3 Speedmaster XL 106 presses together can pro- duce 54,000 sph.” Their LED UV drying systems mean that printed sheets are dry when they reach delivery and can go straight into post-press, which further speeds up production. Ludwig Allgoewer Xploration 2019 Tour returns to Toronto July 17 After last year’s successful event, Xplor International’s 2019 Xploration Tour will return to Toronto July 17 at the City of Toronto Archives building. We can now compete in those areas and offer even better quality than they can produce on some of their fastest printers.” Mack Media specializes in retail, office and POP displays – including the design, fabrication and installation of wallpaper, wall murals, retail interior graphics, POP displays – even glass decoration. The company is now hand- ling larger national retail accounts and is outputting three to four times the volume EFI VUTEk h5 it was producing before.
