ARLINGTON HOMEBUYERS ’ ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Arlington Homebuyers ’ Assistance Program ( AHAP ) provides down payment and closing cost assistance to low-income , first-time homebuyers . Down payment and closing cost assistance is provided in the form of a forgivable loan of up to $ 20,000 based on each applicant ’ s underwriting and subsidy layering assessment . The loan is 0 % interest and is payable only if you sell , refinance with cash-out , or lease your home during the affordability period , typically five years .
