The City of Arlington’ s Housing Rehabilitation Program supports low-to moderate-income homeowners( earning up to 80 % of the Area Median Income) by providing grants and forgivable loans to ensure their homes are safe, code-compliant, accessible, and energy efficient.
The program includes three main components:
Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation – Offers forgivable loans up to $ 24,500 for comprehensive repairs that bring homes into compliance with City codes, address safety issues, improve energy efficiency, and preserve affordable housing.
Emergency Repairs – Provides grants up to $ 10,000 to address urgent issues that pose immediate health or safety risks, such as plumbing, electrical, heating, or roofing failures.
Architectural Barrier Removal – Offers grants up to $ 7,500 to assist low-income homeowners and renters( with landlord approval) with modifications that improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities.
