District Practicum II
This Practicum focuses on the superintendent ' s ability to follow the standards , create a vision , and demonstrate a leadership style that exemplifies values and ethics . You will also gain experience in analyzing leadership styles , creating a positive climate and culture , fostering leadership teams , and managing relationships to enhance student achievement . Additionally , you will experience evaluating data-driven decision making , handling challenges , communication , working with Human Resources , collective bargaining , how to use social media effectively , and the importance of robust technology . Each of the two practicum courses require 180 hours of embedded field experience .

EDU-831 Leadership & Adm of Higher EdThis course examines current issues and challenges in higher education administration and leadership . The course is an overview of the essential knowledge , skills , characteristics and models of academic , institutional and student-life governance . Various activities provide opportunities for developing the skills needed to evaluate and resolve current challenges .

EDU-832 Legal Issues for Inclusive HigheThis course examines the basic legal concepts common to higher education administrators as viewed through the lens of an increasingly diverse college environment . Topics include the history and governance of higher education law , basic legal concepts , and legal issues as they apply in higher education . Current case law and case studies will be used to elucidate how institutional policies and practices can support an inclusive educational environment .
