Current Isues in Special Education
With constantly changing state and federal regulations regarding students with special needs , educators must understand guidelines that apply to the individualized programming of students with and without disabilities . This course expands on foundational topics , including the implementation of IDEA 2004 and the ADAAA , and transition to adult life . This graduate-level course incorporates theory and hands-on methods , techniques , and strategies for working with students with special needs . Field experience required .

This course is designed to provide students with a technical and functional understanding of all facets of behavior , including : behavioral analysis and behavior management in classrooms and other educational settings . Students will explore the basic concepts of behavior , strategies for behavior management , and legal considerations for schools . They will also determine how to conduct functional behavioral assessments and develop individual and schoolwide positive behavior support plans and progress monitoring plans . Field Behavior Mgmt Skills for experience is required . Special Learner
