MPOWER GOLF The team at MPower Golf are looking forward to the GMA national conference in October. As the event rapidly approaches our account managers will be in touch to organise catch ups at our stand on our product range across MPower Golf and also to introduce our reporting, analytics & business intelligence platform - MPower BI. As a major partner of GMA we have been pleased to provide the members with a leaderboard on the Genesis Golf Link Cup. The Genesis Golf Link Cup has now over 101,000 registered players which represents 26% of all club golfers. We will be inviting the top 2 GMA members on the leaderboard to attend the Genesis Golf Link Cup national final in Sydney, playing at NSW Golf Club and attending the Emirates Australian Open. The top 10 for GMA at the time of submitting this article are: Greater governance can be achieved through the automation of business processes. As an example we see many clubs that still need to manually process point of sale transactions through to the general ledger. This not only creates opportunities for errors and time consuming journal transactions but also the opportunity to drill down into the transactional data to analyse member behaviour is minimised. As a club manager you do not always know the questions you need to ask of your data. By using a business intelligence platform like MPower BI, you can visualise your data and start to analyse the information across product lines, outlets and importantly - member behaviour. From a hospitality or retail perspective you can start to ask the data: • What products are performing well and which ones aren’t; make data driven decisions to boost operational performance and drive new revenue opportunities. We will be shortly releasing some information on our business intelligence platform and it will be a key demonstration piece for us at the conference. We have recently launched a new module to our GolfBox Tournament solution that is used in Australia by Golf Australia, PGA of Australia, Golf NSW, Golf Victoria and a number of clubs. We have released a player live scoring module which allows players to enter the score of their group in real-time, automatically populating on a live leaderboard. The system has been designed for mobile devices, players are sent a link via SMS or email with their score code to record hole by hole results. The live scoring system takes the gross scores and seamlessly populates the live leaderboard with the net result depending on the competition of the day. GolfBox Tournament requires no installation by the player to take advantage of the live scoring module. The Tournament platform has been designed to be an out of the box solution, players simply tap on a link using any browser and they are good to start scoring. We will be using the GolfBox system and live scoring at the conference golf events, which will allow you to keep track of the live results for the national championships as well. • When a member purchases a product what other products are they purchasing as well; To see where you are placed on the GMA Genesis Golf Link Cup leaderboard please visit www. genesisgolflinkcup.com.au/gma MPower Golf’s purpose is to make great products that golfers and administrators love to use. Through the provision of these products we then assist clubs in growing revenue and providing greater professionalism and governance. 28 I GOLF MANAGEMENT AUSTRALIA • Who are my most supportive members and what are they purchasing; and importantly • Who are the members at my club that are at most risk of not renewing next year?
