What makes Golden
Isles shrimp so good?
Short answer: They’re a
different breed. Justin
Meyzer, owner of Golden
Isles Shrimp Company,
says that Wild Georgia
Shrimp are white shrimp
and are a lot sweeter than
other varieties. Nourished
in the naturally filtrated
marsh ecosystem and
harvested at the height of
the season, these shrimp
are known for their
succulent taste and firm
texture. “You just can’t
beat the taste of freshly
caught shrimp,” he says.
Halyards
THE FINER THINGS
T
his region is also famous for its exceptional fin-to-fork fine
dining. Specializing in freshly caught seafood, refined Southern
preparations, and the twinkle of piano keys in the background,
Georgia Sea Grill is a favorite in the heart of the Pier Village. Guided by
Johnson & Wales-trained chef Tom Delaney, Delaney’s Bistro serves
French classics like escargot and foie gras, as well as unique wild game
like antelope, elk, and ostrich.
The Georgian Room at Sea Island’s Cloister — the state’s only Forbes
Five-Star restaurant — is known for its superb service as much as its
award-winning cuisine. Experience creations like seared diver sea scallops
crowned with caviar and yuzu while sipping world-class wine beneath
glittering chandeliers.
