In 2015, Abengoa sought insolvency and the legal team had to help the business achieve an agreement with its creditors,
which started a very complex restructuring process as the debt involved different financial products as well as different cre-
ditors. In 2016, the company reached a restructuring agreement including a standstill period to finally close the restructuring
on September 2016. The legal department had to protect the assets of the company in the US, Brazil, Peru and Chile. In
Mexico and the Netherlands, the legal department handled insolvency procedures filed by certain creditors to protect the
viability of the companies as well as the interest of the stakeholders.

tries in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), LAC (Latin-America and Canada) and APJ (Asia Pacific and Japan). HP
implemented a strategy to reinvent its litigation function outside the US. This model has proved to be more efficient and has
driven significant benefits for the company in terms of enhanced management of strategic litigations, outstanding dispute
resolution outcomes, tighter budget control and consistent reporting globally.
