Digital Storytelling
Many constructivist studies have shown that digital storytelling enables students to construct knowledge, express their understanding and consolidate learning, whilst also making the storytelling process enjoyable and relevant (Sadik, 2008).
Research has shown that students are more likely to remember and understand what they have learned when learning activities involve multimedia. An example is Mayer's (2003) Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning.
An excellent example of a Web 2.0 technology for digital storytelling is Joomag.
CODEPEN
"Digital storytelling is the modern expression of the ancient art of storytelling. Throughout history, storytelling has been used to share knowledge, wisdom, and values... Stories have been adapted to each successive medium... from the circle of the campfire to the silver screen, and now the computer screen."
(Digital Storytelling Association, 2002)
