as one of the Biggest
British Bands on the
scene, Biffy clyro are a
great eXamPle that hard
Work, not giving uP and
Believing in your dreams
really does Pay off.
Following the news
that their latest release
‘Opposites’ is the fastest
selling album in the UK this
year, which has claimed the
band their first number 1
album, Biffy are now set to
headline Reading & Leeds
Festival in August.
The band have worked
their way up by playing
the festival more times
in the last 10 years, than
some bands manage
in a lifetime. Their
first Reading & Leeds
appearance was as the
opening act on the Second
Stage in 2001. Following
the release of their debut
album ‘Blackened Sky’,
they returned to play the
Carling Stage in 2002.
After that the band started
moving up the bill, playing
8th on Main Stage in 2003,
again in 2005, 3rd on the
NME Stage in 2007, back
to Main Stage in 2008, and
most recently 3rd on the
Main Stage in 2010.
Biffy Clyro have become
somewhat regulars to
the festival, and, more
importantly, getting
increasingly prestigious with
every appearance.
For over 10 years,
Biffy’s ability to make
awe-inspiring, life-affirming
music has won them fans
across the world. Formed
in 1995, they spent years
tirelessly touring, before
getting signed in 2000. The
band’s first three albums
were critically acclaimed
for their experimental take
on rock, but it was ‘Puzzle’,
released in 2007, which saw
the band achieve widespread
mainstream success.
Whether they’re stripping
off at almost every gig, or
setting fire to their guitars at
Reading Festival in 2007, the
band know how to put on a
spectacular show.
Their performance at
Reading & Leeds Festivals
2013 is definitely one that is
not to be missed.
