Barny was born as a vegetarian, until he turned 18 years old. The whole vegan and vegetarian thing was normal in his family.

When he started training, he as many others, belived that animal protein was magical. However, he never liked that idea and it took a while for him to start eating meat. Unfortunaly, back then he didn't know much about nutricion and about the many protein sources avariable now.

At the age of 23, Barny gained a lot of aknowledge, and the idea of going vegan and stay in shape for his body competitions was easy and realistic. to him.

He was inspired by several films he watched. On of them was GMO OMG. This movie reveled the truth about the chemicals in our food and their very dangerous consequenses. That's when he and his fiancee Josie, decided to be 100% GMO free and support organic industries. They understood that the fact of killing animals for own pleasure was just not right. They loved animals and eating them seemed like being hypocrites; knowing they were adding suffering, misery and mass murder of animals made them be aware of their choices.

He truly believes we all have the power to choose and support the industry we believe in. Now, as vegan Barny feels happier, cleaner and spiritually more connected, he feels he's living rightly. Making this decision was very important for him and his wife. It had a deep effect on their lives.

Now, one question everyone asks is: "Where vegans get their protein from?"

Recently, Barny said he eats about 6,500 calories per day! His primary foods are rice, lentils, chick peas, seeds, beans, fresh fruit and vegetables from their organic and GMO-free local grocery store.

He also said he feels truly blessed to have his wife making delicius meals fro him. And because of that, he loves his "cheat" days, when his wife makes amazing gluten-free, wheat-free, GMO-free and organic cakes and other sweets.
