DURING INTERNSHIP: Follow Rules During your internship, you must follow the rules of the organisation in which you are working. You are accountable to your host AIESEC committee and the NGO/company you are employed by. They have a right to let you go if you are not performing your duties. Open Mind AIESEC expects you to be respectful and tolerant towards any discomforts you might encounter in a f oreign country, any cultural and social differences or behaviors that may irritate you. Just remember, you are a guest in their country, so you might as well get used to their way of life. Either way, you’re only there for a short time, so you don’t have to put up with for a long time. Communication It is up to you how much you want to communicate with AIESEC [__LC__]. Your EP manager will be there for you if you need any help with your internship: whether it is to resolve an issue, to answer a question or to just chat with you. However, you must reply to any emails you get from AIESEC [__LC__] during your internship because sometimes we need to contact you for formal matters. We will send you an evaluation form once you’re one month into your internship and you are required to fill this in and send it back to AIESEC. We ask you to do this in order for us to help you in any way we can, as well as improve our services in the years to come. AIESEC also expects you to take lots of photos and keep some sort of record of your internship – blog, facebook posts, etc. and allow someone from AIESEC access to this media. We want to be able to see that you are safe and having a great time, and also use these records for further marketing of our Global Mobility Programme. AFTER INTERNSHIP: Evaluation After your internship, you will have to fill in a postexchange evaluation form to let us know about your internship – again, we will use this to improve our services in the future. Reintegration You are also expected to come to EP re-integration once you are back. This allows us to inform you of the opportunities we offer within our committee and give you a certificate of completion. You can share your exchange stories with our members, and we can help you cope with reverse culture-shock.
