Health and Wellness
Before you move into the residence halls or start classes , you will need to complete a health form found on GMercyU ’ s website . This is in addition to the athlete student health form that you can get from the Athletic department if you ’ re going to play on one of our NCAA D-III teams .
Required Immunizations
For the safety of all students , the following immunizations are required . Noncompliance will result in a medical hold for admission to the residence halls and may interrupt your class schedule .
DPT : 3 doses plus a booster within the past 10 years
Varicella : either a history of chicken pox or the varicella vaccine
MMR : 2 doses
Hepatitis B : 3 doses
COVID-19 Vaccine ( must provide proof of full vaccination or completed exemption form prior to August 12 , 2021 )
Meningococcal Meningitis Vaccine Booster : A booster dose is now recommended at 16 years of age and older for children who received the initial dose between 11 and 12 years old . If the initial dose was given between 13 and 15 years old , the booster dose should be given between 16 and 18 years old . If the initial dose was given at 16 years or older , no booster is needed .
Polio : 3 doses of Polio vaccine plus a booster
Placement Assessments
To ensure that you are prepared to succeed in college-level courses , you will need to take the English and mathematics placement assessments before registering for your first semester at GMercyU . Math and English placement assessment scores will be made available to your academic advisor who will use them to assist you in registering for appropriate classes . For more information visit

You are exempt from taking the respective placement assessment if you meet one of the following exemptions :
• A score of at least three ( 3 ) on the Princeton Advanced Placement Test in English ( Language and Composition ) and / or mathematics ( Calculus or Statistics )
• Transfer credits for college-level English composition or college-level mathematics courses ( earned grade of C or better ) through the official acceptance of transfer credits by the Registrar ’ s Office at Gwynedd Mercy University
• A score of at least 35 in the reading test and a 680 in the mathematics test .
• A score of 29 or higher on the English or mathematics ACT test
The English and math placement assessments are untimed . Students with documented disabilities who need accommodations , other than extended-time , should make their needs known by email
placementtesting @ gmercyu . edu at least one week in advance of the placement assessment . Placement assessments are completed online unless a request is made to take them on campus .
