GMAQ EXECUTIVE DAY – THE PINES, SANCTUARY COVE role to theirs so they can start develop their own network and feel comfortable in picking up the phone when they have a challenge one their hands or just want to share something. The 2018 GMAQ Executive Day was held at the fantastic facility of Sanctuary Cove – The Pines, on Tuesday 6 March. Although the weather made life a little uncomfortable for all concerned on the day, it didn’t dampen the spirits of the 76 players that turned up to play. Facing rain in the morning after many days of rain preceding the event the course was understandably wet underfoot but the forecast of rain for the rest of the day had the day in doubt for many. The GMAQ Match Play Championship is open for entries now through the GMAQ portal. You will need to register so I know you are interested and I will then develop the draw just prior to the Redcliffe event. Rather than make an executive decision on how to proceed, I elected to let democracy take its course and asked the golfers present what they would like to do. The majority had come to play golf and the rain was not going to get in their way. So without any further delay, they all headed out onto The Pines course, knowing full well that the afternoon was going to be a wet one. That said, the golf course was presented beautifully as the teams battled it out for the EC Coker Shield. GMAQ MATCH PLAY The final results saw the Ballina team of Mark Whiting (CEO), Jennifer Ellenbroek, Geoff Barnes and Paul Wilson take out the days major event with 76 points. Taking out the daily Four-Ball event was new member Brett Lawton and sponsor Jamie Gianneas with 46 points. The GMAQ would like to thank the Sanctuary Cove Team led by Executive General Manager – Paul Sanders and Superintendent Paul McLean and their teams for the wonderful event and the chance to play on one of Australia’s finest facilities. GM & STAFF DAY REDCLIFFE – MONDAY 16 APRIL The next event is a great chance to share the networking benefits with some of your key staff / managers and introduce them to the GMAQ network. Hopefully they will meet someone that has a similar UPCOMING EVENTS 1. Monday 16 April – Redcliffe – GM & Staff Member Day 2.
