Hemp Kitchen After learning his father’s pizza making secrets while growing up in Italy, Vittorio moved to Australia to work with his friend, Emanuele. They put their heads together to tap into a new nutrient-rich ingredient, hemp, using it to perfect a twist on traditional pizza base and pasta recipes. They opened their restaurant, Hemp Kitchen, with a menu full of nutrient boosted, gluten free grainy flavoured dishes that are hard to tell apart from their wheat-based counterparts. With fresh products made from raw ingredients in house, their focus is on offering healthy and fresh Italian cuisine with a unique taste. 1/173-177 Barkly Street St Kilda Vic 3182 www.hempkitchen.com.au Open: 7 days (see website for details) Chevapi Grill Following the success of Mediterraneo Charcoal Restaurant, Australia’s first restaurant accredited by Coeliac Australia in 2017 (owned and operated by Michael Popovic and his wife, Sonia), Chevapi Grill was launched by Michael and his son, Stefan. Now also accredited, Chevapi Grill offers the same authentic flavours as Mediterraneo Charcoal Grill, just in a more casual setting. Taking lessons learned from going through the accreditation process for Mediterraneo, Chevapi Grill was designed from scratch to have a separate gluten free area in the kitchen. This makes it much easier for the whole family to enjoy their meal with confidence for the gluten free diner. 283 Clarendon Street South Melbourne Vic 3205 www.chevapigrill.com.au Open: Mon–Fri (10.30am–8.30pm) Sat (5pm–10pm) February 2019 37 October 2018
