TRASH FASHION
Interview with Martina Velkovska, III1 class
1. When did you realized you want to become a fashion designer?
- Since I was a kid, I always argued with my mother about what should I wear. The only thing I was interested in the most was clothing. Growing up, I started picturing clothes that I would like to wear in my head. I started do make sketches and so it began. I knew then that fashion designer is going to be my ideal job.
2.Tell me about the competition „Trash Fashion”
- „Trash Fashion” is a competition that started three years ago, held in Skopje. It is held every year on 5th june. It’s about fashion designe from recyclable matherials, such as plastic, CDs, nylon, paper etc. The point is to wake up the imagination and to encourage students to show their creativity. The last two years, I’ve designed the „Little mermaid” and „Macedonian girl”. For me, it was an incredible experience just to participate, but we made it through something unique, that no one has shown on this competition before.
