Reporters say that Kim Jong Un knows how risky it would be to go to war with America, and he wants to avoid taking that risk. Robert Einhorn from Newsweek says "I don’t think [Kim Jong Un] wants war.... I think he recognizes North Korea’s initiation of military force would be incredibly risky and likely to bring about the outcome he most wants to avoid, which is the end of his regime." Plus the chance of North Korea giving up on Nukes is miniscule and will never happen. Reporters have even said Kim Jong Un is going to make a hydrogen bomb and plant it in the Pacific ocean to take action against America. Kim Jong Un has put too much time and money into increasing North Korea’s arsenal of nuclear war heads. So he’s never going to consider giving up his nukes. In the past two week’s, Kim Jong Un has been talking to South Korea about becoming allies and helping each other. If this happens, Kim Jong Un would have an even bigger army if he would join forces with South Korea, and still have the protection from China if he takes their offer. The United States thinks North Korea is a threat for America, and if they go to war, it will cost trillions of dollars for the United States. The problem is that nuclear war is going to affect both countries drastically, and could kill up to “fifty thousand or more American citizens and up to two million North Korean’s,” says Anthony Fensom. Also, China did offer protection to North Korea if the U.S. decided to attack North Korea so that could cause even more fatalities.
