Towards the end of World War II, both the US and the USSR were fighting on different sides of Germany, the US attacking the western side while the USSR the eastern side. To add to this, it would seem that each had fought different numbers of battles. But it should also be included that each country had a different impact with those battles. Both countries have positive and negative effects from their involvement within the war.

1. America did not involve itself until Japan attacked Pearl Harbor even though they had known what was happening in Germany beforehand.

2. They helped in defeating Japan by bombing Hiroshima and Nagasaki, leaving Japan very weak and unable to go again the Allied nations.

3. The US helped change the balance of power. From the beginning, Germany had more power with their allies, but when America joined the war, the Allies grew stronger.

4. With America’s power, the war progressed further for the Allies, and the war ended sooner than most thought.
