Thawing in Northern Europe
Jenna went to Sweden from a troubled home. She studied in
the university and got a job with the government. Along the
way, she found she had a “psychic” gift and used that to make
money but also believed she was somehow helping people.
She got involved in necromancy and tarot readings, among
other things. One day, she reached out to an OMS missionary.
She felt tormented by evil and wanted to be set free. The second
time they met, she was ready to accept Jesus. This new
believer is eager to learn, pray, and see God’s kingdom come.
Many majority world people like Jenna have been flocking
to northern Europe in search of asylum from wars, corrupt
governments, terrorism, and civil rights violations, as well as
poverty. Often, they have PTSD and find they don’t fit well
in the culture. Our OMS missionaries and partners provide
places for conversation, care, and much-needed community.
As we find “people of peace” who want to know and follow
Jesus, we form Bible studies and then house churches that
self-replicate.
Our prayer is that, besides helping people through their troubles
of various sorts, a movement of Jesus-followers would
form, where true disciples keep making more disciple-makers.
