Green Thumbs!
June 5th 2016, World Environment Day was celebrated with ardent fervour in school as students took a solemn oath to preserve and conserve the environment and planted saplings in the campus and at St. Josephs Church, Kumbalangi in association with“ Trees for life”, an NGO working towards a greener earth. The cafeteria walls became colourful as Pillar Painting competitions supporting the theme, were also held during the week.
The Student Council takes Charge
Vice Admiral Raman Prem Suthan PVSM, AVSM, VSM was the chief guest at the Investiture Ceremony of the Senior Student Council in June. The newly appointed School Council members took a solemn oath to uphold the merit and values of the school.
Leaders are Made, not Born
Leadership qualities are nurtured innovatively in the Junior school. Every student in grade 5 gets an opportunity to don the mantle of leadership for 2 months during which the requisite skills of Governance, Influence, Integrity and the ability to Inspire would be honed to perfection.
Aviator for a Day!
Gowri Vishwanathan and Sean Sunil of Grade 11 turned Aviators for a Day at the School for Naval Airmen( SFNA) workshop in the Southern Naval Command. The enthusiastic students were taken through the daily routine of an aviator, including a visit to the Air Traffic Control tower and the chance to observe the aircraft hangars of the various helicopters and biplanes used. The most exciting part of the day was the Beginner ' s Flight Simulator, which let them independently fly their own aircraft wearing the pilot ' s uniform.
